
In line with strengthening internaKonal markeKng strategies and fostering academic interacKons, a group of Master of MarkeKng students at Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) held a specialized meeKng with senior university officials.
This iniKaKve, conducted as a pracKcal research project over the course of an academic semester under the supervision of Instructor Victor Oluwafemi Olorunsola, was based on SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, OpportuniKes, and Threats). The student team, comprising members from various countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, uKlized their naKve knowledge and lived experiences to present a comprehensive model of the challenges and opportuniKes for internaKonal students studying in Cyprus.
The meeKng was afended by Prof. Dr. Ali Öztüren, Vice Rector for InsKtuKonal Development and InternaKonal CoordinaKon, and Mr. Murat Aktuğralı. RepresentaKves from Raahjoo InternaKonal InsKtute also parKcipated in the session as sponsors of the student group.
A key focus of the discussion was addressing the obstacles faced by students from the MENA region. The markeKng team detailed challenges such as visa issuance processes, accreditaKon issues, and cultural concerns, proposing pracKcal soluKons to facilitate the

enrollment of these students.
University officials warmly welcomed the iniKaKve and scienKfic approach of the group, ciKng it as a successful example of applying academic knowledge to the higher educaKon industry. Prof. Dr. Öztüren and Mr. Aktuğralı shared their valuable years of experience in internaKonal student recruitment, adding useful insights to the students’ research. They expressed hope that such conKnuous acKviKes and precise examinaKon of markeKng paferns would further increase the share of the presKgious Eastern Mediterranean University in afracKng internaKonal talent.
